AhlulBayt News Agency: Hundreds of protesters gathered in Paris on Saturday, joined by participants from several European countries, to demand an end to Israel’s blockade on the Gaza Strip.
The demonstrators called for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be tried for genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, condemning ongoing military operations against Gaza. They also criticized French President Emmanuel Macron for conditioning the establishment of a Palestinian state on the disarmament of Hamas and the removal of resistance forces from Gaza.
Among the protesters was Ana Werner, a German activist, who described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as more pressing than the UEFA Champions League final. She lamented the international community’s silence, warning that the continued siege of Gaza is leading to the destruction of its children. Carrying a symbolic representation of a child, she expressed her solidarity, stating, “I left Munich and the Champions League final to protest Zionist crimes against Gaza.”
The Israeli war on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in the deaths of at least 54,381 Palestinians and left 124,054 wounded, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The ongoing blockade has exacerbated the humanitarian disaster, restricting food and medical supplies, and severely damaging Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure.
